TESTFIRING
Itisabsolutelyessentialthattheinstallertestfirestheheaterbeforeleavingthesite.
Iffitted,openthegassupplyvalveattherearoftheheaterandcheckallgasjointsforleakageusingaleak
checksolutionoranelectronic‘sniffer’,NOTanakedflame.
Testfiretheheater,followingthelightinginstructionsonpages2,3and4ofthismanual.
First checkthat thepilot light ignites satisfactorily. Initially it may take several attempts until the air is
purgedfromthepipeline.Onceithaslit,extinguishitagainandverifyinstantre-ignition.
Usingtheappropriateprocedureasdetailedfortheheatermodel,lightthemainburnertoverifysatisfactory
ignitionand cross-lighting. Repeat thisprocedure several times.Alwayswaittwo orthreeminutesafter
turning offthemainburner beforelightingit again.Themainburner should betestrunfor at least ten
minutes.
Afterthefirehasbeenalightforfiveminuteson‘HIGH’,holdasmokingtaperormatchattheexitofthe
draughthood(behind theheater) toverifythat theflue isdrawingcorrectly and that fluegasesarenot
spillingintotheroom.

Ifawallmountedorremotethermostatisfitted,verifythethermostatactionbyturningthesettemperature
aboveandbelowtheroomambienttemperaturetocheckthattheburnerturnsonandoffautomatically.
Handheldremotethermostatsmustpointtowardthereceiverforeffectiveoperation.
Ifafanisfitted,checkitsoperationatallspeeds.
Ifsatisfactoryoperationcannotbeachieved,contacttheRetailerforfurtheradvice.
IMPORTANT.Itistheresponsibilityoftheinstallertoinstructthecustomeronthesafeand
correctoperationoftheappliance,andtoensurethatthisinstructionbookletremainswith
thecustomer.
